Terms and Conditions of Service

1. Identification of the direct operator

Chaucato Adventure is a formal tour operator holding an adventure-tourism license granted by the Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (DIRCETUR Ica, Reg. No. 4412), with its operating base at Antigua Panamericana Sur Km 234, Pisco - Paracas, Ica, Peru. These conditions govern the booking of the services offered on our website and arranged through our official WhatsApp channels and direct customer service.

2. Rates, currency and reference exchange rate

• Main currency: All official rates are published and charged mainly in Peruvian soles (S/). Values shown in US dollars (US$) are strictly for reference and are calculated using the exchange rate in effect at the time of the inquiry.
• Rates by departure point:
  • Departure from our base (Km 234): Passengers make their own way to our facilities (with free private, guarded parking). Rates from S/79 (Desert Experience) and S/109 (Oasis in the Desert).
  • Departure from Paracas: Includes a round-trip road transfer from hotels or authorized pickup points in Paracas (El Chaco). Rates from S/89 (Desert) and S/119 (Oasis).
• Sunset Experience and combos: A single rate per guest applies (S/249 for the Sunset Experience on its own, S/329 for Combo A+C, S/359 for Combo B+C), with no split by departure point.
• Desert Oasis Trekking: Requires a minimum of four (4) confirmed passengers, or payment equivalent to 4 people (final web rate of S/169 per person), to guarantee the departure.

3. Booking and confirmation

Sending a request through the website forms or WhatsApp does not constitute an automatic booking. A booking is confirmed only once the Chaucato Adventure team has checked availability at the requested time and the customer has paid the agreed deposit or full amount through the authorized channels (bank transfer, Yape, Plin or a payment gateway for international cards).

4. Operational safety and rules of conduct

• Vehicles and drivers: Our vehicles have certified roll cages and 4-point seat belts, and are driven exclusively by authorized local drivers with extensive experience reading the dunes.
• Mandatory instructions: Passengers must keep their seat belt fastened at all times inside the vehicle and strictly follow the instructors’ directions during sandboarding stops, trekking and activities at the oasis.
• Water activities (Oasis Costa Rica): Wearing a life jacket is mandatory, without exception, when using kayaks, rowboats and paddle boards, regardless of the participant’s swimming ability.
• Health and restrictions: Passengers declare that they are physically fit to take part. Participation is not recommended for people who have had recent surgery, have serious heart conditions or are in an advanced stage of pregnancy, without prior medical authorization.

5. Weather conditions (Paracas winds) and bonfires

The coastal desert is subject to the strong winds known as “Paracas winds”. Chaucato Adventure reserves the right to make minor changes to the itinerary for operational safety reasons. For the Sunset Experience, lighting the evening bonfire on the sand depends on the wind and operating safety conditions of the day, always putting the guests’ wellbeing first.

6. Cancellations, changes and no-shows

• Rescheduling: May be requested without penalty at least twenty-four (24) hours before the agreed service time, subject to availability.
• Cancellations with refund: Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance receive an 80% refund (20% covers administrative costs). Cancellations made between 48 and 24 hours before the service receive a 50% refund. No refund applies with less than 24 hours’ notice.
• No-show: Failing to be at the meeting point or hotel at the arranged time (with a maximum grace period of 15 minutes) counts as a no-show, and 100% of the payment made is forfeited.

7. Conservation and zero-waste policy

At Chaucato Adventure we practice responsible tourism that respects the desert ecosystem. Passengers agree not to litter, not to disturb the endemic wildlife and not to walk outside the marked routes in conservation areas. All waste generated during sunset toasts and trips is removed in full by our team.
